We have also observed deformations of different sizes in different areas on the wreck. In order to ascertain the exact dimensions and the causes of the deformations, these areas will definitely need to be investigated further from different angles with a 3D scanner as well as, for verification, an ROV.
At the moment, we can say that these are definitely deformations that can be seen in different areas on the vessel. In addition, there are various pieces and parts scattered across the top of the vessel itself as well as around it.
Our plan for today is to circle the vessel with the 3D scanner to get a more accurate overview of the hull and the surrounding area. Tomorrow we will start with more detailed, object-by-object, surveys, where we will take a closer look at the deformations. The current areas of interest will certainly need to be investigated further with an ROV.
This morning, we received confirmation that the underwater visibility is currently adequate for ROV surveys.
