The SHK organized an international public procurement in order to find a suitable company to lift the ramp. The Swedish government allocated 25 million Swedish crowns (2.2 million euros) for the implementation of the activities. The ramp was transported to Estonia, where it is further examined.
The report of the numerical assessment of bottom contact of MV Estonia was presented by the research study lead, Tallinn University of Technology, on September 21, 2023.
Interviews with survivors of the accident continue to be conducted. A procurement for modeling the bow of the ship is being prepared and is financed by Estonia.
